Homework completion is very important, it helps to reinforce concepts learned at school and provides students with independent practice. If your student is absent they are expected to make up any missing assignments within 5 days of their return. If you have questions about assignments please email the teacher. Although homework may vary from week to week this is what you can typically expect: Reading Calendars: Your child is expected to read at least 5 nights a week for a minimum of 20 minutes. Their reading calendar should be filled out and signed each night. These calendars need to be kept in their homework folder as they will be recording their reading minutes at school daily. Fluency Sheet: Each Monday a fluency sheet will be sent home. This has four days worth of activities on it. The page is due on Friday. Also, your student my bring home a small paper books call "decodeables" these are great books for you to read with your child and are yours to keep. Spelling: A spelling list will be sent home on Monday and the test is on Friday. Please spend some time practicing these words with your child. Math: Your child will be bringing home a math worksheet most nights. These sheets go along with the math lesson that was taught in class that day. They are due the following day.
*If students fail to return homework, they may be required to miss one recess period and complete it in class.
